This past year, post-Macks, has done a number on my skin. From all of the hormones and now going to the gym five days a week, I feel like it’s always either breaking out (making me feel like a teenager again) or very sensitive to the products that I put on it.

Most days during the week I go makeup free to try to give my skin a break (and because I just don’t have time to do it before running out of the house.) But although I don’t wear any makeup, I still find it important to have a good skin care routine in the morning and at night, especially in this finicky stage that my skin is in right now.

I’ve been using AVEENO® for years and even use it for my kids. Both Macks and Avery have super sensitive skin, including eczema, and it’s always helped out a lot, so I know that it’s a brand that I trust.

Just recently I really started to step-up my morning and evening routine for my face because I was getting a little self-concious as I walked out of the house without makeup everyday. I’ve noticed that since I’ve taken the time to actually take care of my face, it’s made a difference in not only the way my face looks, but how I feel. It’s amazing what taking a little time for yourself can do for you. 😉

I thought I’d share my daily routine for those having post-baby skin issues as well.

My Post-Baby Skin-Care Routine:

AM:

1. Wash face as soon as I get up in the morning with Aveeno® Ultra-Calming ® Foaming Cleanser. This face wash is formulated with Active Naturals® Calming Feverfew® , a natural ingredient related to chamomile. If you have redness or irritated skin, this will help reduce that. It is fragrance free, soap free, noncomedogenic and hypoallergenic. I use it everyday morning and night and it doesn’t dry out my skin or irritate it. I use cool water when washing my face in the morning because I am not a morning person and it takes me a long time to get out of bed and wake up. The coolness on my face helps give me that extra jolt that I need to get my day started.

2. Because Macks is still not continuously sleeping through the night, the dark circles and puffiness under my eyes are a permanent fixture on my face. To try to reduce a little bit of that, I make sure to dab some eye cream under my eyes. I love the  Aveeno® Positively Ageless ® Lifting & Firming Eye Cream.

3. After patting my face dry (making sure not to rub) I apply the Aveeno ® Ultra-Calming® Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 15. I always make sure that the moisturizers I use have SPF in them. That way I know my face is protected from the sun when I am out during the day. Along with the Ultra-Calming® Foaming Cleanser, the Ultra-Calming® Moisturizer also has purified feverfew extract which has been shown to reduce irritation and have calming benefits on your skin.

PM:

1. I mentioned the Aveeno® Positively Radiant® Makeup Removing Wipes last week. It’s important to make sure to remove all of the makeup, oil, and dirt that can easily build up on your skin throughout the day. These wipes are super easy to use and get rid of all of the grime on your face. Just wipe and throw away.

2.  I have an electric cleansing brush and I apply Aveeno® Ultra-Calming ® Foaming Cleanser on the brush and gently clean my face and lift any left-over dirt or oil.

3. Pat my face dry and immediately apply the the Aveeno ® Ultra-Calming® Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 15.
