The kids and I are in North Carolina this week to escape the brutal winter in the north east and relax in the sun with family. While we are stuck with snow and wind in NYC, we’ve been longing for the warmer weather for such a long time.

And with warmer weather, it means that everyone needed clothes to accommodate the higher temps. It was difficult for me to pack for a trip to much warmer weather when we have a closets full of jackets, pants, and scarves. Thankfully with spring on the horizon, that means that all of my favorite clothing lines have released their collections filled with gorgeous pastels to welcome my favorite season of the year.

When shopping for the kids, I always go with something that I love and also reflects their style. Both girls are very into pink and most days Harlan won’t get dressed unless she is wearing a dress. As much as I love that Harlan is into shopping with me for her clothes, it’s also tough because she has a very strong opinion on everything that we pick out for her.

Lucky for me, when she saw EGG by Susan Lazar’s new Spring 2014 line, there wasn’t a dress in the collection that she didn’t like. I’ve long been a fan of EGG for the girls. The quality of their clothes is outstanding and will withstand the true test of what my girls put it through.

As much as I hate to admit this, I really love dressing the girls in coordinating outfits. I told myself I would never do it after my mom did it to my me and my sister when we were growing up, but I love the way it looks. These soft colors with delicate florals that were inspired by the beautiful French Countryside look incredible paired together. And best of all, they were both pink!

The detail on this embroidered dress is absolutely incredible. The fabric is soft and luxurious for a morning at church, yet durable enough for an afternoon at the playground, which is exactly what Harlan needs. This girl  would play football and play in the dirt in a dress if I would let her.

Avery just started to become interested in what she’s wearing and it seems that her sister has influenced her a lot in the dress department. Thankfully this pink ruffle sleeve dress  was just what she loves. The print is feminine and girly and the ruffled sleeves add just the right amount of flair to match Avery’s bubbly personality. As soon as she put it on, she walked around to everyone in the room telling them to look at her dress. This girl loves attention and this dress certainly made her stand out.

As much as I love dressing the girls, I have to admit that dressing a little boy has been so much more fun! Whoever said that boys clothes aren’t as cute as boys was definitely wrong. I think Macks might have a more stylish wardrobe than all of the ladies in the family (but don’t tell the girls that.)

This knit romper is comfortable enough for those cool spring days, yet lightweight and breathable when the temperatures start to rise. I love that the pear subtly compliments the girl’s dresses yet still lets Macks stand out on his own.

I am so excited for spring to make it’s way to New York City (two more days, but who’s counting?) The city is quite possibly the most beautiful it could ever be during this time of the year. With the flowers blooming and the sun shining, we can’t wait to get out and enjoy it.

What’s your favorite part of spring?
