This past month has brought so many new milestones for Avery. She started walking, she’s talking and interacting with us more, but by far my favorite milestone that she’s reached is her ability to show us just how much love this girl has.
She wil use any chance that she gets to come and give you a hug or a kiss. The other night all four of us were sitting on the couch before we put the girls to bed. Avery went back and forth between me and MacKay giving us kisses. She’d kiss our lips, follow it up with an “awww” and then move on to the next person. It lasted for a couple of minutes and did not get old. This little girl could kiss me all day long and I’d love every single second of it.
The best kisses are those she gives you when you least expect it.
And her hugs will melt your heart.
It amazes me that a child so young and innocent can exhibit such an immense love and adoration. But her willingness to love and show that love is such a beautiful quality that I know she will carry with her throughout her life.
I just hope that as she grows and continues to show her love for me and our family, that I can show my love for her as graciously and adoringly as her.

Aww..how sweet. It took a while for my son to get in the habit of giving kisses, but I’ll never forget the first day he did. My heart melted for him all over again. My daughter has always been one to show love and enjoys passing out hugs and kisses.

So, so sweet! I’m so excited that I get to start this mothering journey AGAIN next month. I vividly remember the first time my daughter showered me with hugs and kisses. Total heart explosion. Avery is adorable!!!

I love this stage too! Children are so sweet and there is nothing better than a kiss from your child. My son gives open-mouthed sloppy kisses. He sort of hangs his mouth open and then leans in toward you. It’s so poorly coordinated that it is hysterical and adorable at the same time.
Also, your cookie at the top reminds me of Sex and the City… remember the cookie that Miranda received?
